The Immigration Department and Police arrested 12 Mainland visitors aged 29 to 58, in an anti-illegal employment crackdown in Sheung Shui yesterday.
One man and 11 women were arrested for breaching their conditions of stay by being involved in suspected parallel goods trading in Ka Fu Close, San Wan Road and Po Wan Road in Sheung Shui.
Officers seized milk powder, food, skincare products, daily necessities and electronic products.
A total of 2,068 Mainland visitors and 14 Hong Kong residents have been arrested for parallel goods trading since 2012. Of these, 215 Mainlanders have been prosecuted and 204 of them have been jailed.
