Thirty-eight probationary inspectors and 195 recruit constables graduated from the Hong Kong Police College today.
Public Service Commission Chairman Rita Lau, the Reviewing Officer, said at the ceremony that Hong Kong's hard-earned reputation as one of the world's safest cities owed much to the intensively-trained, highly-competent and well-disciplined Police Force.
Mrs Lau encouraged the graduates to be patient, remain calm and put the professional knowledge they have acquired from the training to good use.
She also encouraged them to uphold the rule of law with impartiality, honouring the force's motto of "We serve with pride and care".
