The total number of visitors arriving in Hong Kong during the Ching Ming festive period fell 12.4% compared with the festive period last year, the Immigration Department said.
In response to media queries today, it noted there were around 468,000 visitors from April 4 to 6, compared with the 534,300 visitors from April 5 to 7 last year.
The number of Mainland visitors fell 14%, from 418,100 to 359,500, while the number of foreign visitors fell 6.6%, from 116,200 to 108,500.
Figures mentioned in a media report today included the arrivals of Hong Kong residents and did not reflect the actual situation of visitor arrivals, the department noted.
