Police today reclassified a March 15 wounding case involving hawker control officer Wu Kwong-sum as manslaughter, after the officer died.
Police received a report at about 4.45pm on Sunday that the 58-year-old officer was found collapsed outside 25 Des Voeux Road Central.
He was sent to Queen Mary Hospital where he died today.
Initial investigations revealed that a South Asian male had pushed him to the ground before he collapsed.
A 36-year-old South Asian male was arrested in Central yesterday and charged with manslaughter in connection with the case.
He will appear before Eastern Magistrates' Courts tomorrow.
