Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen visited the Delhi International Arbitration Centre in New Delhi today to enhance exchanges and co-operation with India's legal and dispute resolution sector.
He was briefed on the centre's operations and facilities by the Sitting Judge of the High Court of Delhi Justice Sanjiv Khanna.
The centre was established in 2009 by the High Court of Delhi and ensures effective settlement of disputes by arbitration. More than 700 cases have been referred to the centre since its inauguration.
On the last day of his visit to New Delhi today, Mr Yuen met with India's Minister for Law & Justice Shri D V Sadananda Gowda and called on the Chinese Ambassador to India Le Yucheng.
Hong Kong has established strong relationships with India on mutual co-operation in criminal matters. In addition to the current bilateral agreements for Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and Surrender of Fugitive Offenders, an agreement for Transfer of Sentenced Persons was also signed in January this year.
