HK, Netherlands police sign pact

January 16, 2015

Hong Kong and the Netherlands Police today signed a Letter of Intent on combating international crime.

Commissioner of Police Andy Tsang and the Netherlands’ Commissioner of the National Police Gerard Bouman signed the pact today during Mr Bouman’s visit to Hong Kong.

The pact covers various areas of policing and marks an important milestone in strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two organisations.

“The collaboration between our two organisations will help to ensure that we operate at the cutting edge of policing. Working together, we place ourselves in a much more advantageous position in meeting new challenges,” Mr Tsang said at the signing ceremony.

Mr Bouman said that Hong Kong has all along been a strategic partner of the Netherlands Police. In recognition of the globalised nature of crimes, the Netherlands Police is committed to the ever-rising need for stronger international police cooperation.
