Customs officers have arrested two people after seizing 92 tonnes of Honduras rosewood logs, which is an endangered species.
The contraband was found in four containers inspected at Kwai Chung Customhouse Cargo Examination Compound on November 26.
Arriving from Guatemala via Mexico, the containers were declared to contain “rubber waste”.
The haul is worth $3 million.
Officers later arrested a man and a woman aged 52 and 54. They have been released on bail.
