Fireman's funeral set

December 12, 2014

The Fire Services Department will hold an official funeral service with full honours for late Principal Fireman Leung Kwok-kei at the Hung Hom Universal Funeral Parlour on December 18.

A customary mourning ceremony open to friends, relatives, government officials, dignitaries, colleagues and the general public will be held at 8.30am.

It will be followed by an official ceremony at 9.30am, where senior government officials and Director of Fire Services Lai Man-hin will lay wreaths. A Service Contingent will parade outside the funeral parlour to pay its last respects.

The hearse will arrive outside Shek Kip Mei Estate's Mei Ying House at about 10.20am, where local dignitaries and residents can lay wreaths.

It will then proceed to Mong Kok Fire Station, where a Service Contingent will parade in the forecourt as a last tribute. Local dignitaries will also lay wreaths at the ceremony.

The cortege will then leave for Gallant Garden at Wo Hop Shek Cemetery for the burial service.

Mr Leung sustained serious head injuries in a gas explosion at Shek Kip Mei Estate on November 22 and passed away on December 4.
