Police ready to restore order

December 10, 2014

Secretary for Security TK Lai says Police are ready to reopen roads and restore public order.

Speaking to reporters today, Mr Lai said Police will help bailiffs enforce court injunctions tomorrow and reopen blocked roads in Admiralty.

He urged protesters to leave the occupied areas peacefully by tomorrow morning, and not to block roads, obstruct Police or resort to violence.

Mr Lai also reminded students to leave as soon as possible and to stay away from troublemakers to avoid getting hurt during the Police clearance.

He reiterated that officers will take resolute action against anyone who obstructs enforcement of the injunctions, blocks roads, charges at Police or disturbs public order.

On whether Admiralty MTR station will be closed tomorrow, Mr Lai said it depends on the situation. He appealed to protesters to co-operate with Police, as any special arrangements will cause inconvenience to the huge number of commuters that use the station.
