Correctional services fair held

November 01, 2014

Visitors flocked to the football field next to Stanley Prison for the Correctional Services Department’s 62nd Autumn Fair today.

Products including paper horses and card holders were on sale. Money raised at the Fair will be donated to more than 40 voluntary organisations.

This year, a “Rehabilitation Corner” was set up to provide information about vocational training provided by the department and various sectors of the community.

The fair’s organising committee chairman Liu Yuen-kwong said the rehabilitation corner incorporated an exhibition area set up by the Cape Collision Correctional Institution which served as a café, where visitors could enjoy milk tea, pineapple buns and cakes made by young people in custody.

Fair goers were also treated to dragon and lion dances, guard dog training demonstrations, marching band performances and cheerleading demonstrations.
