Customs officers seized about four kilogrammes of suspected ketamine worth about $476,000 at Shenzhen Bay Control Point yesterday and arrested two men and a woman.
Customs officers stopped the men's incoming car last night and found the suspected drugs inside a rucksack. They arrested the driver and passenger, and later arrested a woman in Kwai Chung for possession of a small amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects, aged 41 to 51, were arrested for suspected drug trafficking, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of apparatus fit for inhaling a dangerous drug.
Drug trafficking is a serious offence with a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a $5 million fine.
