Police condemn Lung Wo Road protest

October 03, 2014

The Police today condemned protesters at Lung Wo Road for their irresponsible and illegal gathering outside the Chief Executive's Office that has paralysed traffic and seriously impacted emergency services and people's daily lives.

The Police also denounced as inhumane and unacceptable anywhere in the world a move by protesters to block a police car carrying food, water and medical supplies to officers.

It stated that it was unacceptable for protesters to block police vehicles because officers need to swap shifts regularly and continue carrying out their duties.

The Police force stressed that it had been very tolerant towards the protesters on Lung Wo Road, but condemned their disruptive actions.

It appealed to the protesters to cooperate with frontline officers, stop their irresponsible and unlawful behaviour, and leave the area in a peaceful and orderly manner as soon as possible.
