The Customs & Excise Department has arrested a 56-year-man after 255 smartphones and 930 integrated circuits worth $680,000 were found inside a false compartment in his truck.
Customs officers stopped his outgoing truck yesterday with two empty 20-foot trailers declared to be carrying no goods.
They found the goods concealed in the trailer's axles.
The seized smartphones included the latest models such as 20 iPhone 6 devices and nine iPhone 6 Plus models.
The driver was released on bail.
