A Mainland woman was sentenced to 12 months' jail today by Sha Tin Magistracy for lying to an Immigration officer and breaching her stay conditions.
The woman, 32, told Immigration officers at Lo Wu Control Point she was not pregnant.
She then went to a hospital for delivery without a prior booking on July 3.
During the investigation, she admitted under caution that she had lied about her pregnancy and intended to overstay in Hong Kong for the birth.
She pleaded guilty to making a false representation to an Immigration officer.
