A woman has been fined $9,000 for managing an illegal guesthouse in Causeway Bay.

Office of the Licensing Authority staff posed as lodgers and rented a room in the unlicensed guesthouse on Lee Garden Road in March.

The Home Affairs Department said operating or managing an unlicensed guesthouse is a criminal offence that can lead to a maximum fine of $200,000 and two years' imprisonment.
