August 28, 2014

Customs officers arrested 10 men in a smuggling crackdown yesterday, and seized computer goods and silver beads worth more than $31 million.

The officers stopped two outbound trucks at Lok Ma Chau Control Point yesterday morning and found central processing units and silver beads worth more than $3.1 million inside false compartments in the trailers.

They then searched a Tin Shui Wai fenced cargo yard and two warehouses in Sha Tin and Kowloon Bay, and seized computer RAM cards, central processing units, memory cards, hard disks, used mobile phones, USB drives, silver beads and cigarettes, worth more than $28.5 million.

The 10 men, aged 20 to 61, include the syndicate mastermind and core members.
