Immigration officers have arrested 28 Mainlanders in an anti-illegal employment crackdown in Sheung Shui.
The eight men and 20 women, aged 17 to 70, were arrested yesterday for breaching their stay conditions by being involved in parallel goods trading.
The goods included milk powder, medicine, food, daily necessities, cosmetics, skincare and electronic products.
A total of 1,372 Mainlanders and 14 Hong Kong residents have been arrested for parallel goods trading since 2012. Of these, 201 Mainlanders have been prosecuted, and 192 of them have been jailed.
