Parallel traders arrested

August 19, 2014

The Immigration Department and Police yesterday arrested 10 Mainlanders, aged 39 to 67, in an anti-illegal employment crackdown at Lok Ma Chau.

The two men and eight women were arrested for breaching their conditions of stay by being involved in parallel goods trading on Kwu Tung Road.

Officers seized milk powder, wine, champagne, mooncakes, nutritious supplements, facial products, and other items.

A total of 1,344 Mainlanders and 14 Hong Kong residents have been arrested for parallel goods trading since September 2012.
