Immigration officers have arrested 16 people, including 13 illegal workers, aged 17 to 54, and three employers, aged 31 to 46, for hiring them.
Officers searched 10 locations on July 16 and 17, including a recycling yard, a Chinese restaurant, clothing shops, dried seafood shops, flower shops, units under renovation and a food court.
Eleven illegal workers were convicted and sentenced to two to 15 months in prison, yesterday and today.
An employer was convicted to two months' imprisonment suspended for three years and fined $10,000.
The remaining arrestees are still under investigation.
