Police issued 865 summonses and 158 verbal warnings to cyclists who committed road offences during a citywide safe-cycling campaign from April 9 to 15.
Officers from Police Regional Road Safety Teams inspected 688 locations frequented by cyclists, including cycling tracks, railway stations, and fast food shops employing delivery cyclists.
They distributed 8,000 publicity and educational leaflets.
From January to March there were 546 accidents involving bicycles, with 513 cyclist casualties, including two deaths.
