3 arrested for seafood smuggling

Customs officers have arrested three people for smuggling and seized a fishing vessel with 382 cartons of seafood worth $2.4 million in total.

 

Officers spotted the vessel leaving Tung Lung Chau last night and stopped it near the Ninepin Group islands.

 

About 1,900kg of lobsters, 1,400kg of geoduck and 4,300kg of salmon were seized.

 

The coxswain and two crew members, aged 43, 46 and 63, were arrested.
