The Government is studying the subdivided public housing plan to tackle Hong Kong’s housing problem.
Secretary for Transport & Housing Frank Chan made the statement to the media today, saying the Government plans to obtain vacant units from the community and turn them into transitional housing to help the needy.
Mr Chan said the Government has secured several-hundred vacant units so far, and he hopes the plan can be launched by year's-end.
The Government is studying the implementation details and will announce the plan when it is set, he added.
