July 13, 2017

The civil aviation authorities of Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau signed an agreement today to improve air traffic management in the Pearl River Delta region.

The Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Civil Aviation Department and Macau’s Civil Aviation Authority signed a memorandum of co-operation after a meeting in Macau.

The three places agreed to set up mechanisms for regular exchanges, day-to-day co-ordination and emergency liaison to boost contingency planning.

They also agreed to promote automated work processes, and use advanced technology to simulate airspace operations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area to provide reliable, precise and detailed analysis for air traffic management and planning.
