10min flight delay a precaution

(April 21, 2017)

The Civil Aviation Department delayed giving clearance to departure flights for about 10 minutes last night as a precaution due to a temporary power supply failure at two workstations in the Air Traffic Control Centre.

In response to media enquiries, the department said a power supply selector shared by two controller working positions encountered a momentary hitch at 8.45pm.

All other workstations in the centre were not affected.

Arrivals and flights flying over Hong Kong were also not affected.
