The Planning Department today released the Territorial Population & Employment Data Matrix.
The data include assumptions for development projects which are under study or at a very preliminary stage.
Mainly for the Government's internal use, they serve as a basis for Hong Kong's long-term land use and infrastructure planning.
The department decided to disclose the data after considering public opinions on their release.
The data also include population and employment projections for the base year (2014) and two future years within the coming decade (2021 and 2026).
The department said professionals conducting technical assessments can use the data as reference.
