The Government received 408 submissions during the public consultation on the review of the MTR Corporation’s Fare Adjustment Mechanism.
The Transport & Housing Bureau said today the mainstream views received suggest the existing mechanism should be improved, particularly on reflecting the company's profitability.
The Government has relayed the views to the MTRC, adding it will consider the feedback when reviewing the mechanism.
The outcome of the review will be effective in next year's fare adjustment.
The consultation was held from May to August.
Submissions were submitted by Legislative Council and District Council members, political parties, think tanks, residents' groups and individuals.
