The Government will investigate the suspected leakage of information from the Wang Chau development feasibility study and take action.
Secretary for Development Paul Chan made the statement today in response to a newspaper report that a consultancy company used the study’s information for a private developer's business.
Mr Chan said several departments are looking into the matter and will take action.
"According to the consultancy contract with the Government, there are strict stipulations as regards to declaration of interests and confidentiality. We are in the process of fact finding. Upon the finding of facts, we will take appropriate follow-up actions. We take this very seriously."
