Land sale to bring 4,600 flats

September 28, 2016

Private housing land supply for October to December can provide 4,600 flats, Secretary for Development Paul Chan announced today.

Meeting the media on the land sale programme for the coming three months, Mr Chan said the land will come from Government land sales and railway property development.

The Government will sell five residential sites by tender.

The two sites in Tai Po and three in Kai Tak will provide 2,800 flats.

The MTR Corporation plans to tender two property development projects at Ho Man Tin and Wong Chuk Hang which will provide 1,800 flats.

Private housing land supply in the first three quarters of 2016-17 will yield 15,700 flats, about 87% of the full-year target of 18,000.

As for commercial land supply, the Government will sell a Cheung Sha Wan business site, which is about 92,700 sq m, by tender in the fourth quarter.

Combined with those for sale in the previous two quarters, the sites in the first three quarters will provide 268,000 sq m of commercial gross floor area.
