The Buildings Department has released a preliminary report on the collapse of the roof structure at the multipurpose hall of Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre at City University.
The department has investigated various aspects of the accident since it took place on May 20.
The report covers the initial findings on the surrounding circumstances and identifies possible factors behind the collapse.
The department said further investigation, including sample taking, laboratory testing of samples and materials, and detailed site verification must be conducted. These steps will be followed by computer modelling and calculations.
It said that as the investigation is still in progress, it cannot comment on the cause of the collapse.
