The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department today encouraged more vehicle maintenance workshops to join the Voluntary Registration Scheme for Vehicle Maintenance Workshops during its promotion day.
The department launched the scheme last year to further enhance service standards and the trade's professional image and competitiveness.
Around 1,000 workshops have registered for the scheme so far.
The workshops pledge to operate at a quality level in line with the technical, environmental, safety, staff training, service and documentation requirements under the scheme’s Practice Guidelines, and accept the scheme's complaint handling mechanism and its decisions.
Registered workshops display the scheme’s certificate and logo so car owners and drivers can easily identify them.
