23 building plans approved

The Buildings Department approved 23 building plans in March - three on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.

 

Twelve were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four for commercial developments, two for factory and industrial developments, and five for community services development.

 

Consent was given for work to start on 17 building projects that will provide 113,170 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,685 units, and 138,513 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department received notification of the start of work for 11 building projects. It also issued 22 occupation permits - seven on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.

 

The buildings certified for occupation have 80,961 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 833 units, and 149,580 sq m for non-domestic use.

 

The declared cost of new buildings completed in March totalled $4.9 billion.
