Transport chief to visit Korea

Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung will lead a delegation to Korea tomorrow, to promote Hong Kong as a regional logistics hub and its role as a super-connector.

 

The delegation comprises members of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and the Hong Kong Port Development Council.

 

During his stay in Seoul, Prof Cheung will call on Korea's Minister of Land, Infrastructure & Transport Kang Ho-in.

 

He will also speak at a business seminar co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Tokyo on Hong Kong's infrastructural, institutional and geographical strengths as a regional logistics hub. He will also highlight the role of Hong Kong as the super-connector between Mainland China and the world.

 

Prof Cheung and the delegation will visit the cargo handling facilities at Incheon Airport and the port facilities in Busan.

 

During his absence, Under Secretary Yau Shing-mu will be Acting Secretary for Transport & Housing.
