Rail link co-location discussed

November 21, 2015

Permitting Mainland officers to enforce Chinese laws at the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link’s West Kowloon terminus is inevitable if the co-location arrangement is to go ahead, Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen says.

Mr Yuen was addressing the media with Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung in Beijing after a meeting with Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office officials on the arrangement today.

The justice chief said the main issue is how to enable the officers to enforce Mainland laws without breaching the Basic Law.
