The Transport Department has reminded students to leave for school early on September 1 when the new education year starts, to avoid traffic.
It issued the reminder today, saying parents and students should monitor the latest transport and traffic news on radio and television before leaving home.
It advised motorists not to drive in school areas if possible, and to not pick up or drop off passengers in restricted zones.
Nanny vans and school buses should not carry excess passengers or leave schoolchildren in vehicles unattended.
Parents should agree in advance with nanny van or school bus operators on the pick-up and drop-off locations for their children.
Call the department's hotline, 2804 2600, or the 1823 Call Centre for enquiries.
