The Land Registry recorded 7,338 sale and purchase agreements for all building units in July, down 8.2% on June and down 21.9% year-on-year.
The 12-month moving average for July was 7,406, which was 2.3% below the 12-month moving average for June but 27.8% above that for July 2014.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in July was $55.4 billion, down 7.3% on June and down 12.5% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 5,393 were for residential units, down 6.6% on the previous month and down 30.8% compared with July 2014.
The total consideration for residential units was $44.6 billion, 3% more than June but 22% less than July 2014.
The public made 435,171 land register searches during the month.
