The Land Registry received 5,168 sale and purchase agreements for residential units in May, up 13.6% on April but down 1.9% year-on-year.
The total consideration for these agreements was $40.2 billion, up 15.2% on April and up 26.2% year-on-year.
Including all other types of buildings, there were 6,839 agreements in May, 9.9% more than April, and 0.8% more than May last year.
The total consideration for all property sales in May was $48.7 billion, up 9.2% month-on-month and up 23.3% year-on-year.
