Jack So will take up the position of Airport Authority Chairman for three years from June 1, the Government announced today.
Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung said Mr So is familiar with economic, trade and transport affairs, and has rich experience in public service.
Prof Cheung said he is looking forward to working closely with Mr So in maintaining the airport's status as an international and regional aviation hub.
The Government also appointed Andrew Fung, Billy Wong and Allan Zeman as authority members for three years from June 1.
Incumbent chairman Vincent Lo, and members Benjamin Hung and Lo Yiu-ching will leave the authority on that day.
Prof Cheung thanked for Mr Lo for his leadership and for taking forward the three-runway system project and North Commercial District development.
Hong Kong International Airport set new annual records last year when its passenger volume and cargo tonnage exceeded 63.3 million and 4.38 million.
