Chief Executive CY Leung today received a report from the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link Independent Expert Panel.
Mr Leung thanked the panel's chairman, Justice Hartmann, and members Peter Hansford and Prof Andrew J Whittle for their efforts in completing the review and submitting the report within six months.
The Government will seek legal advice on how to handle the report, and will publish it in an appropriate manner once a decision is made.
The Chief Executive appointed an independent expert panel in May to conduct a thorough examination of construction delays, including the rail link's project management, cost controls, MTR Corporation practices and the project supervision mechanism adopted by the Government.
