Transport complaints up 25%

The Transport Complaints Unit received 7,342 complaints and suggestions in the year's third quarter, up 24.8% on the previous quarter.

 

Most were related to public transport services (90%), followed by enforcement matters (6%) and traffic conditions (2%).

 

Cases on public transport services increased by 23.9% to 6,682, while those on traffic conditions increased from 93 to 148.

 

Road maintenance cases slightly rose from 41 to 43, and complaints about illegal parking and other enforcement matters increased from 343 to 444.

 

Of the cases, 46 were pure suggestions.

 

The unit completed investigations into 6,098 cases during the period.

 

Departments and transport operators took on board 20 suggestions to enhance public transport services and improve traffic conditions.
