Secretary for Development Paul Chan says Mainland and Hong Kong construction industries could enhance overall competitiveness and jointly explore international markets through multilevel co-operation.
Mr Chan delivered these remarks at the 2014 Mainland & Hong Kong Construction Industry Forum in Nanning today.
Hong Kong's construction industry has a full grasp of the international standards and the required experience, and can play a bridging role in assisting its Mainland counterparts to enhance their standards and become more international, added Mr Chan.
During the visit Mr Chan also met the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee Secretary Peng Qinghua.
Mr Chan will go to Beijing tomorrow to accompany Chief Executive CY Leung on a visit to central ministries.
