Wind farm study gazetted

July 12, 2013
The Government proposes allowing Hongkong Electric to conduct offshore ground investigation works, involving borehole drilling and soil sampling, on the seabed of 35 locations about 3.5km southwest of Lamma Island.

The works are part of a feasibility study for a proposed offshore wind farm site.

About 0.5 square metres of seabed will be affected at each location, to make a total area of 17.5 square metres.

The work will be done in the fourth quarter of this year.

The move was published in the Government Gazette today.

The plan is available on the Lands Department website.

Anyone with an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and seabed involved can submit a written objection to the Director of Lands by September 12.
