January 03, 2018

The Centre for Food Safety today banned the import of poultry meat and eggs from Landes, France.

The centre was notified of an H5N2 avian influenza outbreak in the area.

It has contacted French authorities and will monitor information issued by the World Organisation for Animal Health.

In the first nine months of last year 10,700 tonnes of chilled and frozen poultry meat, and seven million poultry eggs were imported from France.
