The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload dropped to 234,930 in August, down 0.2% on July, the Social Welfare Department announced today.
The total number of recipients stood at 344,910.
Low-earnings cases fell 1.2% to 4,719 while single parent cases decreased 0.5% to 26,586.
Unemployment cases decreased 0.4% to 13,567 cases.
Both old age cases and permanent disability cases dropped 0.1% to 144,504 and 17,262.
Ill health cases remained steady at 23,903.
