Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah visited Eastern District today to meet District Council members and inspect local facilities.
Mr Lau met Eastern District Council Vice Chairman Chiu Chi-keung and other councillors to discuss local issues.
He visited Quarry Bay Park Phase II to learn about a District-led Actions Scheme initiative to strengthen mosquito prevention and control, and improve environmental hygiene.
He said he was pleased to learn mosquito problems in the district were being alleviated.
Concluding the visit, Mr Lau toured Siu Sai Wan Community Hall and inspected the Joint User Complex construction site on Lei King Road.
The complex will comprise a district library and a residential care home for the elderly upon completion.
