Hospital admissions discussed

August 09, 2017

The Hospital Authority is liaising with the Adventist Hospital for it to receive public hospital patients.

Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan made the statement to reporters today, saying the arrangement will be similar to the one made with St Teresa's Hospital.

She said the authority will announce the plan when it has been set.

Prof Chan and Under Secretary for Food & Health Dr Chui Tak-yi were at Queen Mary Hospital to inspect its services and meet its staff.

On the Medical Registration (Amendment) Bill to reform the Medical Council, Dr Chui told reporters the bill has taken into account the discussions of the tripartite platform comprising doctors, representatives of patients' and consumers' interests, and legislators.

He said the Government will continue to communicate with stakeholders, and hopes the bill will be passed by the Legislative Council.
