Acting Chief Executive Matthew Cheung joined the public at Yuen Chau Kok Sports Centre in Sha Tin today to share the fun of doing exercise on Sport For All Day 2017.

The event was organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department as part of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

With dancing as its theme this year, Sport for All Day encourages people to make exercising a habit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Accompanied by Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah and Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Michelle Li, Mr Cheung watched a flash mob dance performance before starting two games.

He then visited participation sessions of indoor rowing, towel exercise and wheelchair fencing.

Mr Cheung also enjoyed a demonstration of the event’s theme dance before joining primary school students playing indoor lawn bowls.

Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Dr Law Chi-kwong, Secretary for the Civil Service Joshua Law, Secretary for Security John Lee, Secretary for Transport & Housing Frank Chan and Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung also joined the event’s activities in other districts.

The event offered 200 free recreation and sports programmes at designated sports centres across Hong Kong's 18 districts.
