Thirty youngsters will blast off to Beijing on July 30 for an eight-day space training programme.
Speaking at the send-off ceremony at the Space Museum today, Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah said the training camp will broaden the participants' horizons and give them insights into China's aerospace industry.
The programme will run from July 30 to August 6.
Participants will visit major space and astronomy facilities and attend lectures on space science and technology.
They will also take part in astronaut training, like wearing spacesuits, psychological training and other activities.
Recruitment for the training camp started in May and more than 140 students from about 100 schools applied.
The participants were chosen after three rounds of selection, which involved a quiz on astronomy and space science, a three-day pre-camp and an interview.
