Elderly Commission members appointed

Seven new members have been appointed to the Elderly Commission for two years from July 30.
 
They are Maggie Chan, Tammy Chan, Chua Hoi-wai, Diana Chung, Grace Li , Alexandra Lo and Dr Pang Fei-chau.
 
Eight incumbent members, namely Cheung Leong, Victor Lam, Prof Diana Lee, Susan So, Dr Doris Tse, Wong Kit-loong, Kenneth Wong and Yeung Ka-ching, have been reappointed for the same period.
 
Secretary for Labour & Welfare Law Chi-kwong said with a rapidly aging population the commission plays an increasingly important role in advising the Government on policies and initiatives relating to elderly people’s well-being.
 
"As in the past, we will fully consider the valuable advice of the Elderly Commission in devising policies for our elderly."
 
Mr Law thanked outgoing members Lilian Chan, Maggie Chan, Grace Chan, Henry Shie, Dr Tung Sau-ying, Jackson Wong and Doris Wong for their contributions to the commission’s work.
