The Food & Health Bureau is inviting non-profit-making organisations to apply for funding to implement health promotion projects.
The Health Care & Promotion Scheme calls for projects that encourage people to adopt healthier lifestyles and create an environment that supports good health practices.
The projects should be based on scientific evidence and evaluated in a systematic way.
The thematic areas include tobacco control, lifestyle, nutrition and physical activity, mental well-being, injury prevention, reducing alcohol-related problems, promoting the family doctor model of care and empowering the community in the management of chronic diseases.
Priority is given to applications targeting underprivileged groups and programmes carried out in community settings.
The grant ceiling for each proposal is $1.2 million with a two-year duration.
Applicants must represent a non-profit-making organisation, a registered community group, a group formed under a registered non-profit-making body, a local tertiary institution or a public hospital.
The application deadline is July 31.
