The Centre for Health Protection is monitoring 17 newly reported cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in Saudi Arabia.
The patients are 12 men and five women aged 27 to 75, and four have died.
So far 1,905 cases have been reported to the World Health Organisation, including at least 677 deaths.
The centre advises travel agents organising tours to the Middle East not to arrange camel rides and activities involving camel contact, which may increase the risk of infection.
